The material used by Westak to make the sensor, which seems to be simply a
length of porous coaxial cable forming a capacitor, looks like soft aluminium
Versitube and shouldn't fatigue. I thought the reason for not bending the end
was to keep the reading linear ?
On the subject of reserve tank, if you fit the restricted fuel return from
engine driven pump to fuel tank, (to avoid risk of vapour lock, standard
practice in cars) make sure you use the side that receives the return as
reserve, if you use the other side you will slowly pump fuel out of the reserve
into the previously empty tank. (A point mentioned by Ivan, the guy we sometimes
get exasperated with but who was able to give us the Europa because he
exasperated enough money out of otherwise useless bankers)
