The best place for the com antenna is the fin, as per plans. It will work well
and uses 50ohm cable. You could put a VOR dipole, similar to the comm one but
horizontal and longer, on the bottom of the bath tub. The bent ends would affect
it some but it should be adequate. Keep it away from the flap tube.
I use 3/4" self adhesive copper tape and cover it with a ply of BID
