I haven't started the fuselage yet, but I notice that the tip of the tangs
on the
doors go down into a recess. Am I correct that if this recess were to
collect
water, then freeze, the door will be damaged when opened?
I was thinking I might drill holes in each recess for drainage, and then have
something underneath to catch any water and drain out through flexible
tubing.
My initial idea is to make a drip pan, as it were, out of fiberglass. The
visible side would be decoratively covered, or painted. This also means any
solid filler material, or any electrical items in this area are ruled out.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this before I get there, too.
