Getting back to building Europas after all the political talk lately.I have not
put my top on yet, but am about to do so. It may interest anyone who is at this
stage who is contemplating modifying the existing tail wheel arrangement. I
think it is miles easier to do a first fit of the spring doing the ply packing
lay-up and drilling the mounting bolt hole, at this stage. One can obtain a
7 degree angle by measuring the distance between the bottom of fuselarge
moulding
and the end of the screwed part of the spring - having levelled the body
on a level base. The dimension, according to Europa should be 235mm. Also the
position for the hole should be 9.5 inches from the end of the moulding ( Not
having a rear close-out to measure from, as per plans.)
Graham - thanks for the bits arrived today - I await your final conclusions on
your way of retaining the existing rudder drive, and will almost certainly
follow
your lead. May pop down to see the final result, if you could spare me few
minutes.
Michael Dawson.
