    I too have/am considering both of these planes.  I'm not sure you
really were asking for an answer to your question, but:

  What I was first looking for in a plane of my own was something that
would be affordable to build and own.  That seemed to point to a set of
folding wings so the $100 month hanger rent could be avoided.
"Experimental" would avoid those 100 hour visits to the FBO.  I was
looking for something fast enough to go somewhere in but did not want to
be landing at 80 or 100 mph.  So far several airplanes fit the bill, but
now add "claimed" build time in.  Europa and Glastar are now on the same
list.  Top it off with the history and reputation of the company and
both these aircraft are now in limited company.  Yes there are other
items on the 'list' and lots of other things I had not thought about
until I started looking into each plane.  But then again that's why I
read this Mail List --it's to learn.  (and it is helping)
