BMW engine hiatus

I have heard rumours that the BMW engine development (which is awaited with
bated breath by many including yours truly) is on hold pending the
availability of an airframe. Anybody have a spare Europa they can lend the
factory?

I'd be glad to hear that I'm wrong, of course (or even that someone has
finally come up with that elusive diesel) ...
