You can mount the nutplates from the outside by cutting a recess, countersinking the nutplate then pop riveting. Much easier is to fit one of my phenolic firewalls. It fits forward of the rudder cross tubes so provides a complete closure. Downside is that it's harder to change the gear elastic. Can be done though. Graham |
