Recently there have been some cases where the fuel tank, having been fitted as
low as possible in the fuselage in accordance with the builders manual
instructions,
has been found to be too low, and consequently the overhang at the top
of the tank has been found to cause an interference with the wing spars.
To avoid this problem, notwithstanding any instructions to the contrary in the
Manual, the tank should be fitted as high in the fuselage as possible,
consistent
with there being adequate clearance between the fuel outlet ports and the
pitch cross tube CS10.
Because this is done with the cockpit module upside down, it will be necessary
to reduce the temporary packing between the top of the tank and the head rests
shown in chapter 16, figures 4 and 5.
It is intended that the weight of the tank is taken by the 3 brackets, and it is
not significant that the tank does not sit on the floor.
