Advice sought

I have the chance of buying a Mk1 Stage 1 kit complete and signed off - the
upgrade to XS stage 1 is around 670. Can anyone advise me wether this is a
good route to take or is there anything I should be wary of.
Will the Mk1 rudder be ok with the XS fuselage.
Anything else I should look for, I am going to view the kit this weekend and
any suggestions will be gratefully received.
