I am a 65 y old pilot building a xs at Perth West Australia.
.Started in june this year and have finished wings, tailplane
,rudder,controls in seat module.
As a new chum to kit building it has been both difficult yet very rewarding.

The kit ,has ,in general been excellent and support from both the local
agent and the factory[especially Andy Draper] first rate.

I believe I am an early builder of the xs and so offer these few notes which
may just save a few repeating my mistakes. Some, if not all of these, have
been already noted by the factory and some are due to my lack of experience.

Aileron foam too short ,length of shoot bolts shown in book is wrong, pitot
position shown wrong in book,no marks on ribs to guide cut outs for aileron
controls, ribs in wing poorly positioned causing difficulties in fitting
flaps and in turn in fitting ailerons ..note next time I would offer up the
flaps and ailerons to the wing before trying to fit the flap brackets into
the wing.
Spars had three eights bushes instead of half inch and seat back holes were
one quarter instead of three quarter inch .It appears as if the kit has been
sent out before real checks and book proof reading have been finished.

Information sought,,,,
I am about to start the instrument panel ..I can keep the panel in one piece
and take the entire unit out /or/cut separate panels left and right to avoid
the hassle of removing the total panel..can anyone tell me from experience
the preferable way.

Propellor At the moment intending to utilise NSI electric hub with warp
drive blades....However I note from old newsletters that various other props
were in the test mode ..one from New Zealand ,needed a more powerful motor??
Ivo prop also offer an electric hub .Has anyone any experience with this. Or
any other suitable props

In the course of making the wings I've made a very neat fairing for the out-
rigger gear .Made of Bid it slips over the mechanism and attaches to the
aluminium side plates. It could just as easily attach to brackets on the wing.
I've made a mould and could supply anyone interested with a set for 70 uk
pounds plus postage.Could also send a picture .

My public thanks to Tony Krzyzewski for being kind enough to share his
experiences.they have been invaluable to me.
