Best we ever found was to take a pair of old but good quality sissors Make sure
the joint was adjusted up good and then sharpen them,the cutting face only on
a coarse, sharp, (new belt) belt sander which leaves you with a sharp slightly
jagy edge which grabs the fibres and cuts them rather than pushing them out
