Tricky one this. IMHO there is something similar with the outrigger. I am
sure that the tendency to lurch about while taxying and in the landing run-out
would be improved (along with safety) if the legs were stiffer, but then a
similar question arises , better to have a bent outrigger and possibly
prop. damage, than wing damage ? .
