The heater Gerry mentions is very good value. Purchase cost in the order of
=A3350 including flue, running costs about a third of standard rate
electricity and puts out up to 8kW. It is worth noting that it also keeps
up a level of ventilation as it consumes air. 4kW of electric heater may
keep a well insulated workshop warm but not if ventilation losses are
included. I know of one Europa builder who ended up in intensive care
because epoxy fumes so ignore ventilation at  your peril.
