Thanks for your response, I'm due now to receive the relevant PFA data
shortly. I'm proposing to use  your edge method.
The rule of thumb for reinforcement that you quoted gives four layers of
bid on a one inch wide ring around a two and a half inch hole so I would
imagine going to say one and a half inch wide would be ample.
