Barry,

I have heard that the constant speed controller and actuator can't motor
pitch from fine to course fast enough to prevent overspeeding the engine in
certain situations.

E.G. when you set say cruise revs on the constant speed unit, then throttle
back for a descent, the controller motors pitch to fine to maintain prop
speed and eventually hits fine pitch stop. If you then put on the power,
unless you do this quite slowly, you will over rev the engine.

May be this is going to be a fundamental characteristic of any electric (as
opposed to hydraulic) constant speed unit which depends on a lead screw
design?

Miles, you are working on a constant speed controller design, what do you
think?

        Hi Miles.

        I have a MTV-7 Prop on my 912 Europa.

It is a real electronic/electric Constant Speed unit and the quality
of
construction is "Rolls Royce" standard as one would expect from a
certified unit.

The constant speed unit works perfectly and the controler is more
accurate than
the Rotax RPM gauge. It really lets you pull the torque out of the
engine.

The only draw back is the price!!!

        Best regards
