Hi! All.
Further to Tony's message to you about the fairings being close to the
finished 'fus'.
When painting has been completed , assuming you can still get the wing pins
in place , smear some light grease around the profile of the wing to 'fus'
on the 'fus' then put a small bead of white silicone sealant around the
edge of the wing filet , reassemble the wings and leave for the silicone to
set , when set remove the wings and with a razor blade trim any extruded
silicone from around the filet.
A tip from factory !

Subject: Re: Wing root fairings
One thing that was pointed out to me by Kim Prout's father (an
aerodynamicist of some repute) is that the wing root fairings MUST be
airtight in order to gain maximum efficiency of airflow. An inefficient
seal
here can lose several knots of cruise speed.
I am using a rubber seal on the inside of Graham's wing fairings,
effectively duplicating the configuration on Kim's aircraft.
