Audio Flight Avionics

I will be at the Copperstate Fly-in (Mesa/Phoenix, AZ) this weekend. Audio
Flight Avionics have had a display there for the past several years. If they
are in attendance again this year, I will make an appropriate inquiry as to
"why" they are not responding to Email/telephone inquiries. If they are NOT
in attendance, I'll check with Copperstate Chairman (and good friend/mortal
enemy) Bob Hasson or his Director for Commercial Exhibits (and acquaintance)
Jim Buchanan to see if they can shed any light on the present "status" of
the company. Don't mean to sound like a "name-dropper," but have known Bob
for (too) many years...he's getting "old[er}" like me...and he will assist
in this matter.
I have always been most impressed with AFA's products...planned on
using the AV-10 in my airplane, so have a personal interest in this "quest"
for the "truth" or whatever. The two principals in the company always made a
favorable impression. From my last visit with them, which may have been two
years ago at Copperstate, I did "sense" that they were in need of capital to
expand some of the instruments already outstanding capabilities and to
increase their production rate. Also, the value of the Canadian dollar and
the cost of manufacturing/exporting/selling/buying ANYTHING produced in
Canada may be impacting on them. Pure speculation on my part, and I DO NOT
have a degree in business of international finance, so...probably way off
base on this, so please, Canadian friends, no hate mail.
Will drop you all a note when I return from Arizona on (late) Sunday
or Monday.
