It may be better than you think.
e.g. Did anyone really fly straight tracks through those rainstorms on the
leg from Spa to Karlovy Vary ?
The straight line distance is 268.6 nm but integrating along the points in
the tortuous gps track we flew shows 290.5 nm. That turns 115kts average into
123 kts !
Just as well we had a tail wind.
I wonder what Mike Cater's cruise setting was ? His numbers show a splendid
11.2 ltrs/hr albeit only 91.6 kts av. (added in the taxying times ?)
G-EMIN #83 Classic mono (80hp, Wpdr. 16.5 deg) numbers are:
Total distance 1971.3 nm, Flight time 18.3 hrs, Av.speed 107.7 kts.
