The problem with all these tri-gear and taildragger conversions is just
that - they are all conversions of major and irreversible nature. There
is a superb sprung and hydraulically damped anchorage already on the
monowheel - all you should have to do is remove the wheel and fix a
(springy and streamlined) transaxle there with a nice slim but
good-diameter wheel at each end. Hey presto! And if you get tired (not
Tyred) of it, why, then, you can put the old tundra wheel back. Please
won't one of you mechanical geniuses out there get on and produce it for
the rest of us.Hedley Brown (who wants one for G-IMAB)

A reminder to those of you visiting Bob Jacobsen's EXCELLENT
website ( www.galaxyhobby.com/europa.htm) to view the photos of Bob
Berube's LG. Bob (bberube@tampabay.rr.com) would appreciate receiving
any comments you might have regarding his design. Also, if you have any
interest in the factory developing/producing a similar conventional
gear, suggest you drop them a note as well. Judging only from the number
of requests for the photos that I personally have responded to, the
interest is there.
If you elect to visit Bob Jacobsen's site, and every prospective
and active Europa builder should do so, plan on spending some time
there. The site itself is exceptionally well done, does an excellent job
of providing a graphic overview of the total Europa construction
process, and will facilitate your enjoyment of a truly exceptional and
beautifully crafted Europa (Bob's own "Beep Beep"). Bob's site also
features a nice photo-report on this years Arlington (Washington State,
USA) Fly-In and a couple of other exquisite Europa's in attended at that
event.
Well done, BJ, and thank you and Cliff Shaw for your courtesy and
assistance.
