Yes. A flat table is most exellent and achievable w/ a thick wood deck.
Simply, surface by easiest means practicable, then 10 mm lip the edge, and
float w/ resin.
Locate lip position by inverting table over "flat" floor.
Or, from above via lasers, etc.
Shim the feet.
Pour 'til spill.
Finish shimming the feet.
Vibrate.
5 mm edge bevel looks hot.
Now layer with desired performace products.
I had a big, old mirror w/ barely stuck 3-ply draftingboard rubber on top.
And/then had a thin, counter-top panel for the gooey stuff, and paper for
painting.
Or just masonite and countertop.
All of the locating and triple-block pattern work done off of that surface
was quite satisfactory.
The surface can also (withOUT the glass) be carefully bored and cored for
threaded sleeve inserts.
Mine fell off the truck.
I miss it.
