Yes, Dave Elliott and I tried too and found the same problem. We fixed it
by having two triggers on the backplate one to turn the system on just
before sensing position, which then triggered and immediately turned itself
off thus avoiding spurious signals.
It did work but we didn't get around to proper analysis.
