This should not be necessary with the Andair gascolator, which has a small
internal vent, (using the same water resistant mesh as its main filter),
which automatically clears air from the top of the bowl.
Andair now make very neat stainless steel water drains, which I can supply.
(I used to get very fed up with the rusty marks from the so called aviation
quality parts normally supplied. )
I plan to try and persuade Europa to redesign their fuel tank outlets
slightly so that the drains can be installed directly at that point. It can
be done but not easily.
It is disappointing to have to fit extra fuel pipe to mount the gascolator
under the luggage bay floor, (XS style) but its certainly a convenient
place for it and not too high a price to pay. The tri gear does have a
logical place for it, under the centre console after the selector and
before the Facet pump. My preferred fuel pipe is of course, 5052 aluminium.
Held in place with a couple of plies of BID.
