Whoa, whoa!
Before this gets any bigger, let's be aware that if anyone is suspect
in the Customs and Excise game, it's someone who has a known schedule of
flights from foreign lands. That person is Airline Flight Crew and is
open to more scrutiny than most want.
If he declares a purchase for someone else, he goes on the Watchout
list in future and risks being searched every time. If he doesn't
declare and is inspected, there goes a good job. Pick a stewardess
instead.
