To answer the number of queries I've received about Wilma's health
after her heart attack, here is a quick report.
She is getting stronger and is taking a gentle walk almost every day,
up to around a mile, looking at her surroundings with renewed
interest and pleasure in small things. She saw the cardiac specialist
about 10 days ago and he seemed satisfied with her progress, so she
is to continue with the aspirin and beta-blockers until further
notice. She has been promised an appointment with a physiotherapist
for a long talk about exercise, and after that will probably join the
heart patients' exercise group at the nearby leisure centre. She has
started to paint again and life is generally becoming more "normal"
again. I'm still doing things like the grocery shopping (with a
FileMaker-generated list). Wilma does not yet feel quite up to coming
to the Europa Club Christmas dinner this year, but promises to be fit
for next time!
Thanks again to all those who sent good wishes and who have supported
us both in so many ways.
regards
Rowland
