It would be useful to know if the problem has occurred in any aircraft using
the new Europa oil pipe routing - i.e. to the rear of the engine.
Can those of you who have had this problem please say what your oil pipe
routing was?

Gary
we had this problem on our 912 powered G-BXDY 2 years ago except we had no
oil smell and I lost all the oil in flight, the first sign being a drop in
oil pressure. I shut the engine down and was lucky enough to glide to a
nearby airfield for a forced landing. Our pipe was also lagged with
heatproof sleeve and removal of the pipe showed it to be completely brittle.
Europa subsequently issued a notice to alter the routing of the oil return
pipe, such that instead of going forward from the banjo into a narrowing gap
above the silencer, it routes to the rear of the engine into an ever
increasing gap and up over the rear of the engine to the tank.
