Going top-less

Some time ago there was a problem with doors latching requiring a mod to
the shoot bolts. Apparently one or more doors departed company from the
fuselage while in flight. Flight characteristics without a door were
reported to be quite good. The door made a safe landing and was
recovered without damage. Prehaps the pilot to whom this happened could
elaborate.
