Persplex Doors

One quick question ,
Just bonded the door persplex in place leaving a 1mm or greater gap
between the door rebate and the persplex. What have builders filled the
gap up with as I presume it is needed to allow the expansion of the
persplex? Looking at white silicon sealant after painting. 
Any thoughts.
