Well, all of the replies received agreed with my original thinking. The Rotax magnetos are wired the same as any magneto. The magnetos are wired such that the in the "off" position the magnetos are grounded out. To start the engine the switch is flipped to the "on" or "open circuit" position and the magnetos are ungrounded. With the Rotax engine though there isn't a right and left magneto but rather just A and B. Each is wired the same. Erich Trombley A028 |
