Mike,
Sorry to hear about your challenges. Here's my input for your consideration.
Re. the fit of the bellcrank. If you are sure of the correct orientation of the
bellcrank, then using a shim, washers or (my preference) building a flox pad
under the brackets would be fine.
Re the fit of the ailerons/flaps. I went for a minimal gap between the close
out
edges and the leading edges of the surfaces. (This assures minimal drag later)
Alignment of the ends and trailing edges can be adjusted by trimming, or
building up later at the finishing stage.
Re. misalignment of the plates/hinges - if I understand correctly, suggest you
align the components with hinge plates as appropriate, and trim or build up the
ends of the surfaces to meet each other.
Now for the 'Ra Ra' . . If you're like me, I go through times when I wish I
were
doing more in the build - so that I wasn't 'building a kit'. . . and then times
when I wish I was doing less - because I want to fly the plane. Write these
challenges up to how you REALLY ARE building the plane.
