at Statesville, North Carolina. Weather was Carolina blue and dead calm.
Performance in the 24 minute first flight was as advertised. It went up
like an elevator; a friendly C172 pilot acting as chase and who took off
before me was puzzled when I ended up above and behind him on the climb
out and queried my call of passing through 4000 ft when they were at
~3000 ft - he thought my altimeter was in error. Clean stalls at 50 kts
IAS and flaps/gear down stalls at 38 kts IAS, basically straight ahead,
no significant wing drop. No bounce at touchdown and a straight runout!
Its a miracle! My complements to Orville, Wilbur and Otto, they were
the first.
