Richard I am using a borrowed pump from Bob Jacobsen ( we built his Europa with it) I do not have to prime the pump, never have. There is a very small "leek" under the red side, but I put a folded up paper towel there and it is no bother to replace it once a week. I would look for a loose fitting that is allowing air to seep into the gooseneck if I had your problem. The pump works so good, I don't know how to build with out it. Cliff Shaw 1041 Euclid ave.
