The inner tube for the main wheel supplied with my XS mono held air pressure for 3 years while the aircraft was in the cradle. However, as soon as I took it out of the cradle it promptly went flat! The seal between the metal stem and the tube is airtight at low pressure but leaks at high pressure. I suggest that tubes should be tested with pressure prior to installation. Regards Tom Friedland, N96V, to be in Atascadero, CA in two weeks! |
