The last time I used a P tube, at around 18,000 feet over Scotland, I found 
the biggest problem was doing it up hill. So, I lowered the flaps, achieved 
a more convenient attitude, then dug through various straps, sweaters etc 
to access the relevant equipment

The rest of the flight was very relaxed.
