This isn't an Europa subject, but interesting nevertheless -
The Sept. 24th Oregonian reported that the certified division
of Lancair is up for sale. The company has had no luck in
finding $25M funding for production rampup for over a year,
and laid off 80% of its staff early this year. No word on the
fate of an estimated 100 aircraft order list for the Columbia
family of planes.
The original division of the company that makes kitplanes is
doing fine and is finanically and organizationally independent
of the certified division.
Cirrus was lucky in being able to secure substantial production
funding last summer.
