Aluminum Prep

I have gone through most of the FAQ's on this subject. They all seem to speak 
about the differences between each option but not when and where to use them. 
As I am in northern California about 100 miles from the coast I don't think 
that I'll need super protection, just the normal amount. 
The reply talking about masking mating parts is very helpful! I would not 
have thought of that, so again the members of this forum have saved me many 
hours.
