Hi Paul,
The best place for your NACA vents is the waste bin.
I spent a lot of time installing mine, but after operating them
a few times the threads broke, rendering them completely useless.
These threads are just cheap hollow plastic instead of solid
nylon, and I haven't figured out a way yet of repairing them yet.
I will have to leave them completely open or closed before each
flight. At the moment they are taped closed.
You will also find that if your aircraft is parked in a heavy
rainstorm, the vents will let in water, even in the closed position,
and you will have a nice puddle in each footwell.
Cheers, Karl Heindl # 392
