Many people expressed an interest in the Scrapheap Challenge television
programme showing how three teams (from UK, USA and France) designed an
aircraft from scratch and built it in three days (given an engine and
propeller, for safety reasons).
Those who are near Bedfordshire may wish to know that the Cranfield Branch
of the Royal Aeronautical Society is hosting a lecture entitled "Small
Aircraft Structures and Design Concepts - including the SCRAPHEAP CHALLENGE
winner" by Dr Bill Brooks, Captain, pilot and winner of the Scrapheap
Challenge.
The lecture will be held in the Kings Norton Library lecture theatre of
Cranfield University at 7 pm on Tuesday 28 Jan 03. Anyone interested in
attending who would like further details should contact me, OFF FORUM
please.
