Hi Ron-
I calibrate the ASI on my Avid Flyer by placing an O-ring on the static
probe. Moving the O-ring aft of the static port causes the indicated
airspeed to increase, and if forward of the static port the indicated
airspeed will decrease. A few runs in both directions over a measured or
known course will converge on the best position for the O-ring. Of course,
nowadays with GPS it's a bit easier!

I was reading an article on airspeed today.
It talks about most likely having to calibrate your pitot static system, and
calibrate your airspeed indicator.
I understand, why you may need to do this.
What do you physical change/do to pitot static system and or airspeed
indicator?
Thx.
