Europa-List: Front Wheel

Help please,

I am a UK Pulsar builder and am trying to replace my front tyre. This is a split
rim as per the Europa ( does it just need brute force?) and would like to know
if anyone has any hints and tips for getting the rims apart and not catching
the tube on the refit.
