Europa-List: Flap root extensions

I'm looking for advice on flap root extentions. They seem pretty 
straightforward,
but the 2nd lay-up on the inside is my main concern. What is the simplest way
to reach inside? How do you easily protect the drive pins? I welcome any other
thoughts on this also.
