Hi Tony that's interesting about the use of Automatic transmission fluid in
the Tri-Gear Mastercylinder, (MOD 65 only)
Matco has indorsed the use of ATF in there brake calipers
so the choice of fluid has now doubled, and given Silicone DOT5 has a number
Of drawbacks, It will be ATF for me!
Not least the cost factor, 1 Litre of ATF costs 1 Pound sterling 1 Litre
DOT5 SILICONE 25 pound sterling, (NO CONTEST)
DOT 5 will work fine but DOT5.1 contains glycol and is not compatible with
the seals. Petroleum based automatic transmission fluid (ATF) will also
work fine.

. The master cylinder is model no.
> US2002X. The seals are Buna N seals, compatible with Dot 3,5,8 , ATF
> fluid?? and therefore most synthetic fluids.
You need a very small vent on the reservoir to allow the fluid to lower as
the pads wear, this way you always have a full pedal/lever, otherwise with
time the starting point of the pedal?lever will move,
