Mine is .7" x circa .032" thick and same (will rust unless..) steel,
and .032" seems to do as intended. It would have been an appropriate
dimension in response to an elderly, long-time scratch builder who
likes to advise me in such matters one word..."medium." :-) My
friend's guidance seems could imply thicker aluminum also.
