Mattias, The normal fuel tank is in front of the spars, but behind the C of
G mid range, so that filling up the tanks puts the C of G back. more of a
snag with the idea of making it a 4 seater is that luggage puts the Cof G
back considerably more because of the greater moment arm. In fact the
possible combinations of pilot range 120-450lbs /fuel 0-110lbs &
baggage0-80lbs uses up the entire permissible C of G range (58.0 to 62.5").
The following figures for my mid weight 914/XS illustrate the problem:
Wt of pax Wt of fuel Wt of bags C of G posn
Shift of C of G
200 0 0
58.42 -
200 110 0
60.03 1.61
200 110 80
62.22 2.19
400 0 0
58.01 -
400 110 0
59.48 1.47
400 110 80
61.21 1.73
If you take a small (120lb) pilot or two large ones (450lbs) you readily
reach the extremes of the CofG range. I am very attracted to the idea of
wing tanks to increase the range but am deeply suspicious of the idea of
making it into a 4 seater or even a 2+2. Regards, David Joyce, G-XSDJ

the DynAro 4S (four-seater Ban-Bi) I have been tempted to trading my Europa
kit for an MCR 4S. The big problem was that I really wanted Europa's
detachable wings, and I didn't really need a "real" four seater, but rather
a 2+2 (back seats being something like what you will find in a seven-seater
VW Touran or Opel Zafira). If the Europa can be converted to a 2+2 seater,
it is really the perfect plane for me :-)
