Subject: Europa-List: Interior Paint
I would like to know what others have done with regard to walls and doors for
the
interior. I been told by a local Long EZ builder that the proper way to go
is with Zolitone. I can only find it being sold by the gallon for $55.00. I
don't
need a whole gallon. Has anyone used the Rustoleum product called Stone
Creations
found at your local hardware store? I wonder if it would hold up in the
extreme temps in the cockpit. Thanks for any advice in advance. Regards, Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I used the Stone Creations product and a light top coat spray of clear. It has
held up quite well with 3 years of use. The pilot foot well is scuffed and the
throttle quadrant box where my hand rests is getting dirty, but it is easy to
clean or spray over as necessary. If you use use a white primer first, you will
need much less of the speckle paint. Next time, I would put on a much heavier
topcoat of clear acrylic as Tony K suggested.
