I built a RX-6 type hot air balloon in 1983 with what was touted as the
same
fabric used by Raven Industries on their Balloons.
Raven used Type 66 in their balloons.
The stuff I got was type 6.
I could leave the type 66 out in the sun for a half year and it would
just begin
to tear a bit easier. The type 6, leave in the sun a week and it would
tear like
paper. Even leaving it indoors exposed to Fluorescent lighting did it in
after
less than a year.
I wish I found this out with a broken outrigger leg instead of a dead
envelope
after less than a hundred hours.
