The coolant can be 'drained' without  coolant all over the engine or  the 
floor. Syphon the liquid out of the swirl pot on top of the engine. Then  remove

the hose going to the radiator and put the syphon tube in it, pushed down  to 
the bottom, and syphon out the rest.
