Ron,
This question has been repeatedly asked at the Rotax Seminars at Osh and
SnF.
The unwavering answer is that the engines have no problem with it. The
concern
is that other components of the fuel system may swell, or deteriorate with
Ethanol.
My plane uses ethanol safe hoses, brass and nylon fittings, etc. My plane
has about 160 Hr
with no problem.
Lycomings and Continental have problems with gasohol because they still
use !cork!
gaskets and the binders in the gaskets dissolve in EtOH. Serves em right
for not changing the
engine design for 50 years. I don't know what Cessna and Piper use in
their fuel system.
