I used exactly the same on my pipe fittings, All Metal with DOT5.1 Glycol base Brake fluid, Been Working fine for the last year, No leaks and fittings in the right place regards Ivor Phillips > > What i did was use some Locktite 577, a thread sealant suitable for gas, > oil and water.
