We have a vertical card compass in G-IANI as the co-pilot (wife) has trouble reading standard compasses. My summary is that mine is a cantankerous beast prone to sticking despite being vertical. With adjustment it eventually gives a true reading when it feel so inclined. Apart from that its fine. Conversely Dave Bosonworth has the same model and it works reasonably well.
