Hi Folks,
I finally got around to building one of those wooden blocks that can be used
to hook onto the main leg (just forward of the wheel) and using a jack raise
the wheel off the ground. Works great but I figured I would be able to spin the
wheel.
It seems the brake pad is touching the brake disc such that a force of
probably a pound or two is needed to rotate the wheel. This probably accounts
for
the rather polished state of the brake disc - I just assumed this was from
normal braking.
I can pull the aircraft along with no problem. My brake handle pulls probably
an inch or so before I feel the brake pressure so would have thought the
brake 'relaxed' in off mode. Could it be some kind of lubrication is needed in
the
brake area, I think maybe gunge buildup is somehow preventing the brakes to
relax.
Anyone else had a similar problem. Solutions?
